Toyota Debuts New Furia Concept at 2013 North American International Auto Show

Toyota Furia Concept

Last week, during the 2013 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Toyota revealed a very intriguing concept called the Toyota Furia.

The exciting news to come out of this compact sedan concept is that it hints at the styling cues consumers can expect to see on the next-generation Corolla. The Furia concept came to be as a result of an exterior styling study by Toyota designers. It looks to build on the brand's product development priority to develop more dramatic and vividly designed vehicles.

When asked about the Toyota Corolla Furia concept, Bill Fay, Toyota Motor Groups vice president and general manager of the Toyota Division said: "The Corolla Furia Concept is an early indicator of where our compact car design may lead in the future…It blends a heightened emphasis on dramatic design and modern elements of high technology to generate curb appeal that will surprise a lot of people."

One look at this new design and you can definitely see the changes from the current Corolla model. The new Toyota Corolla Furia design includes a swept windshield, a sloped roofline and more prominent fender flares. It has an aggressively styled front fascia, with a blacked-out grille treatment that highlights a pair of sculpted front LED headlamps (and rear composite LED taillights) that add a sense of advanced technology to the Furia's exterior. The Corolla Furia Concept's wheel wells are equipped with Carbon fiber accents, rocker panels, and rear valance, which includes ornate metal exhaust outlet surrounds to add a sense of modern athleticism.

Toyota says that the Furia concept is designed around a theme of "Iconic Dynamism," which uses pure and simple surface elements to create a very distinct and stylish appearance in order to appeal to more youthful consumers. The Furia is Toyota’s edgier interpretation of a usually conservative compact sedan that displays a more stable, athletic stance with 19-inch allow wheels pushed to the vehicle's corners to help emphasize its long wheelbase.

Toyota Corolla Furia Concept Specs
Overall Length 4620 mm/ 181.9 inches
Overall Width 1805 mm / 71 inches
Overall Height 1425 mm / 56.1 inches
Wheelbase 2700 mm/ 106.3 inches
Wheels 19-inch aluminum alloy

What do YOU think?

The Furia concept definitely would add some “pizzazz” to the Corolla model, but what do you think? Is it too much for the Corolla’s generally conservative users or is it just what the car needs?

Vehicle Profile: 2013 Toyota 4Runner

The Toyota 4Runner is back for 2013!

This bad boy has the ability to seat up to seven and is offered in three available trims: the all around well-equipped SR5, the off-road-capable Trail and the luxury minded Limited.

Under the Hood

Every trim comes standard equipped with a 270-hp 4.0-liter V6 paired with a five-speed Electronically Controlled automatic Transmission with intelligence (ECT-i).
Drivetrain options for all 2013 models include rear-wheel drive (4x2), part-time four-wheel drive (4x4) and full-time multi-mode 4x4 with locking center differential. Fuel economy for the 4Runner has been EPA-estimated at 17 mpg city/22 mpg for 4x2 models, and 17 mpg city/21 mpg highway for 4x4s. New for 2013, the SR5 features a switch control for the transfer case, in place of a lever.

Trim Features

Limited trim models of the 2013 Toyota 4Runner come standard with an X-REAS suspension system that automatically adjusts to changing surfaces. The system also features a center control absorber that links the 4Runners shocks at opposite corners to reduce yaw and pitch (which would cause the vehicle to move side to side or dip forward otherwise). The benefit of the X-REAS system is that it makes the 4Runner Limited corner flatter and handle more predictably across uneven surfaces.

The 4x4 SR5 and Trail trims feature the two-speed, part-time four-wheel drive system with a neutral position, while the Limited comes with the full-time 4x4 system with the locking center differential.

The A-TRAC traction control system is standard on all 4x4 models and can send power to any one wheel in contact with the ground, making sure that power is not wasted on tires with little or no traction. Downhill Assist Control (DAC) and Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) are also standard systems on all 4x4-equipped 4Runner trims.

2013 4Runner buyers who opt for the Trail trim will have the option to upgrade to Toyota’s Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS), which is an optional upgrade that allows the 4Runner to dynamically disconnect its stabilizer bars for greater suspension travel, making the 4Runner better able to negotiate difficult terrain. Also for the Trail trim is standard equipped Crawl Control (CRAWL) which acts as a low-speed throttle control, making it easier for drivers to focus on steering through rough terrain. Lastly, the Trail trim is standard equipped with a Multi-Terrain Select system which lets the driver select differing levels of wheel slip to match terrain conditions.

The Limited trim for the 2013 Toyota 4Runner brings high levels of luxury equipment as standard features for your 4Runner including: Leather seats, a standard Audio Display system equipped with navigation and Entune®, and dual-zone climate control. There is an available JBL® premium sound system with 15 speakers for owners who desire more audio power.

To make the 4Runner more versatile, an available third-row seat provides seven-passenger capacity, and an available pull-out cargo deck allows you to more easily load cargo. No need to worry about how much your groceries weigh either, as the shelf can support up to 440 pounds.

Safety Features

The 2013 Toyota 4Runner is equipped with the Toyota Star Safety System, which includes Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) with traction control and Antilock Brakes (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) Brake Assist (BA) and Smart Stop Technology (SST).

To make sure the car protecting you is also protected, the 2013 4Runner comes with a five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty. The 4Runner also comes standard with Toyota Care®, which covers normal factory-scheduled maintenance and provides 24-hour roadside assistance for two years or 25,000 miles.

Conclusion

The 2013 Toyota 4Runner offers a little bit for everybody. Whether you want a rugged, a luxury or a well rounded SUV, the Toyota 4Runner will certainly be a crowd please. MSRP for 2013 Toyota 4Runner starts at $31,340.

Vehicle Profile: 2013 Toyota Avalon

Avalon redesign aims to bring it back to the top of the class

It all began this year when Toyota began hinting plans to reveal a new vehicle at the New York Auto Show (Read at: http://newtoyotanews.blogspot.com/2012/03/toyota-to-debut-new-sedan.html). After much hoopla, Toyota revealed that the new sedan would come in the form of a new and improved version of the 2013 Toyota Avalon. The redesigned Avalon raised the bar on its predecessors with new styling and the introduction of the first full-hybrid in the segment.

What’s New?

So what’s new with the 2013 Avalon? Simply put, the new 2013 Toyota Avalon is shorter, lower, and less wide than previous models, and it features a brand new design created here in America, and featuring a smooth, sleek shape with muscular lines as well as a sporting profile. In addition to being designed in the U.S., the new Avalon is also assembled in the USA, at the Toyota Manufacturing Plant in Georgetown, Kentucky.

 Under the Hood

Under the hood, the standard Avalon has seen enhanced capability and fuel economy. Toyota’s go to engine, the 3.5-liter V6, now comes matched to a more responsive, and efficient, six-speed automatic transaxle. This all-aluminum engine is able to produce 268 HP, which allows the Avalon to go from 0 to 60 mph in less than seven seconds.

The 2013 model also sees the addition of three driver-selectable powertrain modes: “ECO,” “NORMAL” and “SPORT”.

In SPORT mode, the new Avalon sees an increase in its acceleration response, as well as enhanced steering feel. ECO mode maximizes the Avalon’s fuel efficiency by altering its throttle response and reducing the energy used by the air-condition system, allowing the Avalon to achieve an impressive 31 mpg highway estimate from the EPA. The 2013 Toyota Avalon has a city fuel efficiency rating of 21 mpg.

Looking to save money on the pump?

Looking for the best possible fuel economy? Then the all-new, segment-first full-hybrid Avalon is the way to go. Award-winning Toyota Hybrid Synergy Drive combines with the Avalon Hybrid’s reduced weight and more aerodynamic shape to deliver an EPA-estimated 39 mpg highway and 40 mpg city. The Avalon Hybrid features a 2.5-liter four-cylinder paired with a nickel-metal hydride battery pack. There is also a pair of electric motor/generators within the transaxle.

The system has a total power output of 200 hp and has three separate driving modes: “EV,” “ECO” and “SPORT.”

EV mode allows the Avalon to travel on pure electric energy for up to one mile at speeds up to 25 mph. This is especially useful for traveling through parking lots and residential areas. ECO mode uses the gasoline motor, but adjusts throttle response and climate control to help improve fuel economy. Sport mode, designed to take advantage of the dynamic characteristics of the Avalon, alters engine throttle and enhances steering feel.

 Safety

The Avalon comes with the Toyota Star Safety System™ and is standard equipped with Toyota Care. The Star Safety System includes a very impressive array of safety features including: Traction Control and Vehicle Stability Control combined with advanced airbags. Anti-lock brakes, Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Brake Assist and Smart Stop brake override technology are also included in the Star Safety System. While Star Safety protects you, the Toyota Care complimentary maintenance program provides free factory scheduled maintenance for two years or 25,000 miles.

Its impressive roomy interior and powerful engine make it the perfect SUV for those looking for features, power, and versatility. Simply put the Toyota Sequoia is a SUV you can take anywhere, from classy settings to the dirt.

For the 2013 model year the Toyota Sequoia will see a few changes. First it will remove the 4.6-liter V8 engine that previous models offered and will instead be equipped with a big 5.7-liter V8 engine as standard equipment.

The iForce 5.7 liter engine gives the Sequoia the ability to push 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque, as well as a tow rating of up to 7,400 pounds. The six-speed automatic transmission of last year will return to once again provide power to either a two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive system that is equipped with a lockable Torsen limited-slip center differential.

Those who feel like spending a little extra cash can step up to Platinum trim for a rash of interior niceties. More importantly, the higher trim serves up an Adaptive Variable Suspension, which adjusts damper response with three available settings (Comfort, Normal and Sport).

Also for 2013, the Toyota Sequoia will now offer Toyota's Entune multimedia system as well as an available Blu-Ray player for the back passengers’ area. 2013 Toyota Sequoia Offers Industry-First Blu-Ray Rear Seat Entertainment System

• 381-HP V8 now standard on all models
• Toyota First-New Blu-Ray® Rear Seat Entertainment System
• Available Entune™ Multimedia System
• Blind spot monitor enhances safety for changing lanes

The Toyota Sequoia, which offers seating for up to eight in a full-size, full-capability sport-utility vehicle (SUV), gains new family friendly entertainment features for 2013. The Sequoia debuts a Toyota-first Blu-Ray rear seat entertainment system, and 2013 also marks the first full year of Toyota Entune™ availability.

Built on an exclusive platform that uses body-on-frame construction, the Toyota Sequoia features four-wheel independent suspension to help provide exemplary ride quality, handling and straight-line control. The 2013 Sequoia is available in SR5, Limited and Platinum grades, and all models for 2013 now make the 381-hp 5.7-liter V8 standard; the 310-hp 4.6-liter V8 has been discontinued. The Sequoia model line offers the choice of 2WD and 4WD. In select areas, Sequoia 4x4 models feature E85 Flex Fuel capability.

Performance
The standard engine for all 2013 Sequoia models is now the iForce DOHC 5.7-liter V8, teamed to a six-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission. The 5.7-liter engine produces 381 hp at 5,600 RPM and 401 lb.-ft. of torque at 3,600 RPM. The engine is equipped with dual independent Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i). An Acoustic Control Induction System (ACIS) switches the intake tract length in two stages, based on engine RPM and throttle angle, to optimize torque across the engine speed range. Toyota specifies regular-grade fuel for the Sequoia.

The 5.7-liter V8 enables the Sequoia to tow up to 7,400 lbs., depending on model grade and equipment. Crucial for customers who tow, the 5.7-liter V8 produces 90 percent of its peak torque at just 2,200 rpm. A Tow/Haul mode modifies transmission shift points for optimal performance.

The standard Trailer Sway Control system uses the Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) to help counteract handling forces acting on the SUV in an effort to minimize the impact of trailer sway. The Sequoia's towing hitch is integrated into the frame as a single unit.

Toyota's flexible torque converter lock-up control enhances efficiency in the six-speed automatic transmission, with lock-up occurring in fourth, fifth and sixth gears. The available Multi-Mode four-wheel-drive system uses a two-speed transfer case with a lockable TORSEN® limited-slip center differential to power the front and rear wheels. The transfer case is shifted electronically via a rotary knob, and it locks with the push of a button.

Handling and Ride
The four-wheel independent suspension uses upper and lower A-arms and coil springs at each wheel. The 38-foot turning circle is one of the tightest in Sequoia's class.

The Sequoia Platinum model is equipped with Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS), which adjusts damper response with settings for Comfort, Normal and Sport. The Platinum grade's Electronically Modulated Air Suspension also augments the Sequoia's ability to tow and haul heavy loads while maintaining an appropriate ride height and chassis attitude. The SR5's standard 18-inch aluminum wheels have 275/65 R18 tires; 20-inch aluminum wheels with 275/55 R20 tires are standard for the Limited and Platinum grades, with the wheels on the Platinum featuring a diamond-cut finish.

Sequoia uses 13.9-inch ventilated front disc brakes and 13.6-inch ventilated rear disc brakes. Four opposed pistons – two per side – ensure optimal braking performance and fade resistance.

Safety
Like all Toyota models, the 2013 Sequoia is equipped with Toyota's STAR Safety System™, which includes Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), Traction Control (TRAC) and Smart Stop Technology (SST). On 4WD models, TRAC is replaced by A-TRAC (Active-Traction Control).

The 2013 Sequoia is equipped with a dual stage advanced front air bag system, seat-mounted side airbags for the driver and front passenger, roll-sensing side curtain airbags for all three seating rows, plus driver and front passenger knee airbags.

Luxury takes a big step up with a standard power tilt/slide moonroof; heated front leather-trimmed seats, second- and third-row retractable sunshades and a steering wheel that integrates controls for the air conditioning system, Bluetooth®-capable phones and other functions.

With its long list of standard features, the 2013 Sequoia offers just a small menu of factory options. The SR5 grade offers a Sport Appearance Package that includes seven-passenger seating, 20-inch super chrome alloy wheels, color-keyed grille, and black seat fabric. Exterior colors for the Sport Appearance Package are limited to black, white and silver.

Also available on SR5 models is a Premium Package that includes a leather-trimmed and heated 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat; four-way power-adjustable front passenger seat; a leather-trimmed 40/20/40 split sliding, reclining, fold-flat second-row seat with one-touch access to the third-row seat; a leather-trimmed 60/40 split, power reclining, fold-flat third-row seat; and an auto-dimming rearview mirror with an integrated backup camera monitor, compass, map lights and HomeLink® universal transceiver.

Exterior Design
The Sequoia's 0.36 drag coefficient (Cd) is comparable to smaller crossover-type vehicles. The vehicle's mirrors, wipers, A-pillars and roof header are shaped to help maximize aerodynamic efficiency and minimize wind noise. Vehicle underside airflow is optimized to reduce drag and wind noise and to help improve directional control.

Headlamp washers are standard on all grades for improved visibility. On the Limited grade, the large side-view mirrors feature power retraction, automatic glare-resistance, and turn-signal lamps. In addition to these features, the Platinum grade mirrors also include puddle lamps, position memory and reverse-linked tilt functions.

The wide rear door-opening angle provides easy passenger ingress/egress and child seat installation. Standard on the Limited and Platinum models are front and rear parking sonar sensors that emit an audible warning to alert the driver of the position of solid objects and their distance from the vehicle.

Interior Design
The Sequoia dash features a finish similar to that in fine luxury cars. Each of Sequoia's eight seating positions provides space sufficient to comfortably accommodate people well above normal height. The same efficient packaging that allows exceptional interior comfort also allows carrying items up to 11 feet long. Folding the second- and third-row seats flat opens the cargo area to 120.1 cubic feet of carrying capacity.

The second-row bench-type seat is split 40:20:40 and is equipped with a seat-slide mechanism that offers an adjustment range of 5.9 inches. This seat can also be folded flat and uses a one-touch easy-slide action to allow passenger access to the third-row seat. Second-row captain seats are available for a seven-seat cabin.

The third-row seat is split 60:40, has a seatback reclining mechanism and can be easily folded flat. A power tilting and folding mechanism is available. The rear liftgate sliding glass can be opened and closed for easy loading with the turn of a key. The cargo area is equipped with handy hooks for grocery bags. Sequoia provides 16 extra-large cup/bottle holders (18 on the Platinum grade), as well as convenient storage spaces.

All three grades offer two interior color choices of Graphite and Sand Beige. A Red Rock interior is also available on the Platinum grade, and the SR5 Sport Appearance Package uses an exclusive black interior.

One great safety feature in the 2013 Venza is the active headrests found on the driver and passenger seats.  This feature equips the seat with a cable mechanism that will move the headrest upward and forward if the vehicle is struck from the rear, and thus limiting the movement of the occupant's head.

Conclusion

I want to get my hands on one and give it a test drive! The new exterior gives it a much better look, while the extra features should make this one worth a trip to your dealer.

Vehicle Preview: 2013 Toyota Prius V

The 2013 Toyota Prius V is back this year, and fans will be pleased to know that it shouldn’t see many changes from its 2012 predecessor. The beauty of the 2013 Prius V is that it has a similar basic design and powertrain used in the current Toyota Prius, yet takes it one step further by making it bigger and more cargo friendly.

The 2013 Prius V will be available in three models: Two, Three, and Five.

Those who buy the Five model will have the option for an Advanced Technology Package that adds on the following features: an upgraded navigation system, a panoramic sunroof, parking assist, Toyota's adaptive cruise control, Pre-Collision system, and the Entune infotainment system.

The 2013 Prius V is powered by 1.8-liter gasoline engine combined to a battery-powered electric motor that pushes out 134 combined horsepower. Just like the original Prius, the 2013 Prius V is able to run on one or both of its power sources, providing drivers with a balance between acceleration and fuel economy.

No plug-in charging station is required for the 2013 Prius V. It is stocked with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that makes the car perform like an automatic.

Safety features on all 2013 Prius V include traction control, ABS, an antiskid system, curtain-side airbags, and front-side airbags. As always, every Toyota comes with Toyota’s Complimentary Maintenance Plan, Toyota Care.

The 2013 Prius V will be one of the first Toyota vehicles to use its new Entune multimedia system.

Toyota’s Entune multimedia system works with your smartphone to provide Prius drivers and passengers with Internet-search capability. Need to find information on your favorite restaurant or check movie times? Just check your Entune. Need to check out the score to the game? Just check out your Entune! The Entune system is even capable of reading text messages aloud, allowing drivers to focus on the road.

The 2013 Prius V comes standard with keyless access and engine start. It also offers an optional panoramic sunroof.

Vehicle Preview: 2013 Toyota RAV4

 2013 Toyota RAV4 Spy Photos

The Toyota RAV4 has remained one of our favorite small SUV’s in the market. Its responsiveness and roomie interior makes it one of our usual top choices to bring to our events. For the 2013 model year Toyota announced a complete redesign for the RAV4, and we cannot wait to have one in our hands.
So what can you expect from the 2013 Toyota RAV4?
We don't expect it to grow much in size or look radically different. The Toyota RAV4 seems to have found the perfect balance of size and maneuverability, and after all if the shoe fits wear it, right?
For the 2013 Model year expect to see sharper creases and some chunky styling cues from the FJ Cruiser and Toyota's trucks. Under the hood, expect to RAV4 to come equipped with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder and 3.5-liter V6 engines as a carry-over from last year. The current 2.5-liter returns 28 mpg on the highway, so look for the new four-cylinder to reach towards the 30 highway mpg line.
While we have heard rumblings of a hybrid RAV4 at some point, one confirmed report is that for the 2013 model year we will see the return of the RAV4 EV.
The RAV4 EV is powered by batteries and some powertrain components from Tesla Motors. Expect the second-generation RAV4 EV to see a range of about 100 miles. The last RAV4 EV was released in 2004.
The 2013 Toyota RAV4 EV will go on sale late this year however the non-electric RAV4 is coming soon. Keep checking back for a full review of the 2013 Toyota RAV4, including specs, driving impressions and car battles as it becomes available.

2013 Toyota Avalon Confirms Hybrid

When we reported the unveiling of the 2013 Toyota Avalon in April (Check it out at http://newtoyotanews.blogspot.com/2012/04/2013-toyota-debuts-new-avalon-at-new.html), Toyota had not revealed powertrain details for it, leading many to speculate the original 268 hp 3.5 liter V-6 engine would carry over. There were also rumblings of the possibility of a Hybrid engine being in the works.
Well ladies and gentlemen; we can now report that Toyota has confirmed a hybrid version of the 2013 Avalon is scheduled for production, coming in the form of a 154-hp, 153-lb-ft 2.5-liter Atkinson Cycle I-4 engine, capable of making the 2013 Avalon able to reach 140 hp and 200 lb-ft of torque combined.
The 2013 Toyota Avalon Hybrid’s fuel economy is EPA rated to reach 39/40 mpg city/highway and 40 mpg combined. The regular 3.5-liter V-6 engine gets 21/31 mpg city/highway and 25 mpg combined rating.
The engine will be powered by two electric motor-generators. One of the electric motor generators will start the gas engine and charge the batteries and the other functions as a traction motor and a regenerative braking unit. There is also a 244.8-volt nickel-metal hydride battery pack behind the rear seats. The combined output of the gas engine and electric motor has been rated at 200 hp.
The 2013 Toyota Avalon’s hybrid system will offer three hybrid modes: EV, ECO and Sport.
EV mode allows the vehicle to run exclusively on electric power for up to one mile at 25 mph or less under certain conditions. ECO mode improves the Avalon’s efficiency by reducing the gas engine’s throttle response and HVAC output. Finally, Sport mode enhances the Avalon’s throttle response and steering feel.
Those interested in buying a 2013 Toyota Avalon will have the choice between a 3.5-liter V-6 and the hybrid drivetrains when the car goes on sale later this year.

What Would YOU Do?

Let’s face it; most contests that come up give you the feeling of “well this is a scam”. However every once in a while, as seen by the huge Mega Millions pot that hit Maryland this year, a contest comes up that makes you say: “You know? I actually have a chance!”
Well ladies and gentlemen this summer Jerry’s Auto Group created a contest that will make you feel just that. Starting June 1st and running until Labor Day (September 3rd) Jerry’s is hiding keys in their primary market area and giving clues as to their location. Those who find the winning keys are then entered to win at a wrap up event hosted by Jerry’s Auto Group (For more info on the contest visit http://newtoyotanews.blogspot.com/2012/05/jerrys-auto-group-announces-car-give.html)
The two cars that are available to win are the 2012 Scion iQ and the 2012 Chevrolet Cruze, which made us start thinking: If we were to win these cars what we would do with them? The following ideas came to mind.
Try The Scion iQ’s Turning Radius and Parallel Parking Skills
We have all seen the commercials for the Scion iQ showing off its impressive turning radius as well as its ability to be parked in virtually any parking spot. (if you haven’t seen this check it out at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FFg5xPmrCv4&feature=relmfu and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-dxD_ygD9Y )

The first thing I would do is find an empty lot and show off my iQ’s turning radius to my friends. The Scion iQ has a turning radius of 12 feet, making it possible to complete even the tightest turns. Another test for this radius would be performed during U-Turn attempts at tight interceptions. Something tells us that the iQ will be able to pull a U-turn in even the tightest intersections.
After showing off the iQ’s impressive turning radius I would move directly into attempting to recreate the parallel park job seen at the commercial (though seeing as I am not a trained driver I would be going much slower, and the two cars would be cones….I don’t want to ruin my baby ).
The one terrible thing about living in Baltimore will actually come in the handiest for the parallel park job test. As we all know finding street parking in the Baltimore area is almost impossible. Hate when you drive by a spot that you know you would fit in had the person there parked 5 inches forward? Well with the Scion iQ you don’t have to worry about that. The 2012 Scion iQ is about 120 inches long, making it easy to fit in all of those hard to park areas. Look out Baltimore parking, prepare to be defeated.
Take the Sonic on a romantic road trip!
A few weeks ago I made a post via social media asking our followers what they would do if they won a car and one answer really stood out to me. One person said that they had always wanted to be able to take a road trip across the 50 states in the U.S, and that is a dream that I have shared for many years.

Now realistically speaking we are aware that the Chevy Sonic will not be ideal for a full family road trip, so instead we came up with a better idea: A romantic getaway for our significant others!
If you are, or have been, in a relationship you know that every couple dreams of that romantic getaway, away from work, stress and everything else that makes vacations necessary. Many couples hope for it, and most are never able to fulfill their dream due to lack of funds, unreliable vehicles, etc. However, winning a brand new car takes the stress of wondering whether your car will break down on the side of the road out of your dream vacation.
The 2012 Chevy Sonic is the perfect vehicle for a romantic getaway.  It is comfortable, it is spacious and the 1.8-liter model with the automatic transmission can get 25 mpg city/35 mpg highway and 28 mpg combined. 35 MPG Highway means you will save your money at the pump so you can spend it on your sweetheart; it is a win-win if I ever saw one.
Another reason why this would be the perfect road trip vehicle is because the 2012 Chevy Sonic is simply a fun car to drive! It offers light steering and it quickly reacts during turns. It even drives well on trails, making this a fun car to take to your getaway, wherever it may be.
Turn garage into entertainment center
While this is one that doesn’t specifically relate to what you would do with the car, it does relate to what having the car can do for you!
Take a look at the size of a one car garage and compare it to the diminutive size of the 2012 Scion iQ; Catch my drift?
The Scion iQ is so tiny (its only about 120 inches long) that it offers its owner the ability to use that garage for something better and more entertaining. This could be a perfect place to create your “man cave”, a good work area or even your own personal work out zone.
If I had my dream garage it would have the following.
1)    Big Screen T.V (Flat screen to save room ;o))
2)    Man Couch or Recliner Man Chair
3)    Video game system (PS3 or Xbox 360) to use for entertainment, DVD play and Netflix direct stream purposes.
4)    My Scion iQ
See? Entertainment made easy!
Cruise Europe with the iQ
If anybody has been to Europe you know that European streets were not made for most average sized vehicles to go in. After reading how our friends at Google used the Scion iQ to cruise the streets of Belgium (find it at http://blog.autoshopper.com/articles/3409/Google-Uses-Toyota-iQ-For-Street-View-On-Narrow-Belgian-Roads/) I figured, why not fulfill a lifelong fantasy of traveling the old continent?
The Scion iQ would be the perfect car to travel around in Europe. It is fuel efficient, It’s easy to maneuver in Europe’s busy streets and it is the perfect size to make it anywhere. If I could choose one car to have during a European road trip, this would certainly be it!
So What Would YOU Do?
So now that you have read my ideas I would like to hear from you. What would you do if you won a 2012 Chevy sonic or a 2012 Scion iQ?
