2013 Toyota Sequoia

The 2013 Toyota Sequoia is back for 2013 and it sounds like its going to be meaner than ever. Big news for the Sequoia for 2013 is that it will now discontinue its 4.6 liter V-8 engine from the available lineup.

Because of the discontinuation of the 4.6-liter V-8 from the lineup 2013, the Toyota Sequoia will now offer one engine for all the trims.

Out with the old

For those of you wondering, the 4.6-liter V-8 was the Sequoia’s base engine. It was able to produce 310 hp and 327 lb-ft of torque and can still be seen in the Toyota Tundra.

The incoming 5.7-liter engine, on the other hand, is rated at 381 hp and 401 lb-ft, and comes mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, as well as a very impressive towing capacity of 7400 pounds.

The 2013 Toyota Sequoia has been EPA rated at 13/18 mpg city/highway for the rear-wheel drive model and 13/17 mpg for the four-wheel drive. The more powerful engine hasn’t reduced the Sequoia’s fuel efficiency that much as the outgoing 4.6-liter was rated 14/20 and 13/18 mpg in two-wheel and four-wheel-drive trims, respectively.

In with the new

For the 2013 model year the Toyota Sequoia will also come equipped with a few new technical features. For example, the 2013 Sequoia will now offer a Blu-Ray rear seat entertainment system, making it Toyota’s first model to do so. Additionally, drivers can now maneuver the large SUV between lanes more safely thanks to an new available blind spot monitoring system.

Trims

The 2013 Toyota Sequoia is still offered in three trim levels: SR5, Limited, and Platinum.

The Platinum model, the top trim for the 2013 Sequoia, comes standard equipped with many impressive features including a navigation system, adaptive cruise control, a rear load-leveling air suspension, heated seats for second row passengers, and a very impressive premium 14-speaker sound system.
